Today I went out and did some tuning on my heavy lift quad powered by the OpenPilot CopterControl flight board. I was using a bluetooth module to tune the settings from a netbook computer. Much better than constantly plugging in USB to tweak settings! I got it...
Until now, I have been flying Spektre with low-cost motors and a 3-cell lipo. Now I am ready for some serious camera lifting and FPV flying. Spektre has been rebuilt with Cobra 2814/20 850kV motors, Proton 30A ESCs, 11×5 Graupner props and 4S batteries. The...
I have been planning and sourcing the parts for a heavy lift hexacopter for some time now. Finally, it is becoming a reality. This hexacopter will be used exclusively for aerial photography and video.
Tried some flips mid-forward flight. A few crashes but I am getting them down. Best viewed in HD and fullscreen.
Practiced my flips, rolls and loops today. My PID settings allow for real fast flips, which are getting easy to do (and at lower altitudes). It is doing large loops that I think are tricky, have to time it and judge how much nick/roll to give it.
I frequently get asked where to buy some of the frames I fly. Now, you can buy them along with many other things at MulticopterStore.com
Learning to do fast flips and rolls with Jötunn. Thanks to Warthox for the MWC gain settings. Best viewed in HD and fullscreen to see what is going on. Wide gopro makes things look small.
I have swapped out the motors and ESCs on Jötunn to use the Keda 20-50S 1088 Kv motors and 10A ESCs. With this change and using a 1300mAh or less lipo, I have greatly reduced the weight of the quad. This reduction makes it much more agile and reduces the force...
